Bed sheets and curtains question?

Ok, so im going to school in the carribean so i bought new bedsheets. I need to change the look of my room a little to make it feel homey. I cant paint the walls, nor can i buy new bedsheets ( cause its a hassle).. i know i can put up things on the wall and change the curtains. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to make the room a bit more livley and homey? Thanks so much for your help!

Add some soft fluffy throw white or cream and gold and brown pillows to the bed. Change your curtains to something like a white or cream colored sheer curtain if you can and what you have hanging on the window now which is nice by the way...you could fold it and place it at the end of your bed. Get some cheap faux wide wood white or dark colored wood blinds. Paint a bright colorful picture but keeping to the theme of colors you already have and hang it up on the wall including some of the colors from your bed and pillows. Add some nice looking framed pictures to your tables and candles always warms up a room with the scent and the flame so get some nice scented candles......the best candles are the ones that feel greasy to the touch so always touch the candles before you buy-the greasier the better.


Add a comfy fluffy rug maybe even a soft shag rug in gold brown or cream. You could also buy some wood painted letters to spell something out and hang that on the wall too.


Also you could restain your side tables and dresser in a darker stain that makes a huge difference.


A lamp will also give it a warm feel to the room as well...especially the smaller ones with the narrow type light bulbs. Also it would look better if you could get two more regular bed pillows with dark brown pillow covers to add underneath the pillow shams that you have now. The pillows that you have now have shams on them which are more for looks than sleeping on. You could also add a cork type board and nail it above the bed to give you that head board look and then add pictures that you like on it.


And another thing you can do for a change is flip the bedspread over so just a bit of the goldish side is showing just to be different if you get sick of it.Bed sheets and curtains question?
You need more color, maybe blue or a deep rust. More pillows in those colors. Aheadboard would help. Or the appearence of a headboad, like maybe a bamboo shade hung on the wall over the bed. Or a screen. A rug under the bed or at least on the side of it. Paint the wall in one of the colors you pick.There's a few for you!
Hang a big bulletin board or cork board on the wall, fill it up with pictures of your friends, family, pets, etc.
an area rug with help greatly. also as said above a headboard. but stick to warm tones, like browns or a maroon.
Paint a huge picture and hang it on one of the walls.
