How do you get rid of mold and moldy smells from quilts and bed sheets?

A cupboard ended up getting wet due to a leak and the bedding and quilts in this cub board ended up picking up this moldy smell. The bedding was washed but still has a moldy smell. How do you get rid of that moldy smell. Would Febreze work? What else would work? How do you get rid of mold and moldy smells from quilts and bed sheets?
You need to wash them until the odor is gone. Don't overload the washing machine, put 1 cup of white vinegar and 1/2 cup baking soda and your regular detergent and as hot as water as the bedding can handle and wash on the longest cycle.

A product called Odo-Ban is also good. Its a liquid that you add to the wash water that neutralizes odors. Simple Green added to the washer can also help. I purchase both of these products at Sams Club, but have seen them both at Wal-Mart, Target, etc.How do you get rid of mold and moldy smells from quilts and bed sheets?
Mold is yukky! Throw the stuff away and buy new bedding. Fabreeze smells just about at yukky as mold.

Good luck.
To remove a musty or unpleasant smelk from a mattress, sprinkle baking soda over the naked mattress and leave it for 24 hrs, then vacuum it away w/ and appropriate attachment
