Should I use two twin sets or one king size set of sheets when I put my two beds together?

I am moving into a dorm room which has two twin XL beds and I will be the only occupant.

What I am trying to determine is should I use two sets of twin sheets (I have one atm) or use one king size sheet set (which from what I heard is the same size) as I put them together?Should I use two twin sets or one king size set of sheets when I put my two beds together?
Hi, Twin xl beds are 39';widex80';length so put together they are actually the size of a Eastern King so make sure the fitted sheet is 78'; wide. http://www.bestratedmattresses.com/twin-… If you are sure you are going to be the only person for the whole year then I'd get the king sheets but if you're not then I'd get the twinxl size.

Standard King 76”wx80”l

California King 72”wx84” l

(aka Western King)

Eastern King 78”wx80”l

Hope this helps and have a great year.Should I use two twin sets or one king size set of sheets when I put my two beds together?
id go with the king just to be certain. plus who doesnt love new sheets? your going to have to buy a new set anyways. so lucky to get a room by yourself. =)
unless you just love pulling stuff out from between the adjoining matresses, i'd recommend the king set.
One of my customers has two twin beds put together as a king and she uses twin fitted sheets with a king flat sheet

Do you like the sheets and blankets tucked in under the mattress at the foot of your bed?

I sure as hell don't.... 'cause I'm 6'5';.Do you like the sheets and blankets tucked in under the mattress at the foot of your bed?
No because it smashes down my toes and makes the tops of my feet hurt.Do you like the sheets and blankets tucked in under the mattress at the foot of your bed?
No I hate my feet to be covered it makes me feel claustrophobic.
Yes, I do. But not the overcover.
yes.

you need a longer bed!
just the bottom sheet.
I am only 5ft tall, and I can't stand the end of the blanket and sheet tucked under. I agree with Hummingbird. It smashes my toes.
no because i feel constricted.
I don't
I agree with you I like to stick my feet out when they get too hot.
I like tall men

I could make the exception
No, I hate that. Whenever I go to a hotel or something the first thing I do is rip them out from being tucked in down there. It makes me feel trapped.
I don't sleep so I couldn't tell you.
GOD NO!

How do people sleep being hemmed in like that!
i hate um like that i always move and if i cant rrrrrr it bugs me!

im only 5'9';
Gosh! No i can't stand it, i can stay awake for hours if i have my feet tucked in ,maybe even not sleep at all that night ,I also only use a sheet most of the time nothing more .
yeah i do
doesn't matter either way as long as the sheets aren't wrinkled!
No, it makes my feet uncomfortable. I untuck them and wrap my feet in the spare.
I HATE IT!

I HATE IT!

I HATE IT!

I always leave my feet hanging out the end of my bed so I can't stand for it to be like that!
I don't. The first thing I do when sleeping at a hotel is pull the end of the sheets out from under the mattress.

When I was a kid I did because then I didn't have to do much work to make the bed in the morning. But now having them tucked in on the end makes my feet hurt. I usually put my feet out of the end of the covers.
I love it, especially when the AC is set low.

You can get a ';long'; bed, that would be more comfortable for your size if your current bed is uncomfortable for you. If not, then I say, let your feet air out if that is what you like.
I don't like me feet to be covered. I begin squirming and become unable to sleep.

My feet HAVE to be out of the blanket.

So, no.
no....I like mine in a big rat's nest at the foot of the bed.
no my feet cant breathe haha jk but no it aggrevates me to no end
Yes, that way the boogie man can't stick his hand up under the covers and tickle my feet.
6 foot here, and I hate it. I am almost sure that the concept

was developed by a four footer.
no, no big deal if they are but i don't fix my bed that way. too restricting

I got very itcht last night in bed having just laundered my sheets that very day. Is it detergent?

The last time I laundered my sheets with detergent I spent a very itchy night, too - so I simply ran them through the rinse cycle, dried them and everything was fine.

I laundered these particular sheets with detergent yesterday and lo and behold last night I was itchy again

Does it make sense that these particular sheets (indian cotton, high thread count) should make me itchy when laundered with detergent but other sheets are OK?

I am 90% sure the itchiness (SEVERE itchiness) is the detergent because as I say I used the same sheets a month ago having run them through the wash cycle without detergent and I was fine

Any comments, ideas, suggestions welcomed ... thanks in advance.

(I am 100% sure it isn't bed bugs cos until I laundered my sheets, I was fine and the itchiness happened that very night - last night - and I have had a rotten night's sleep!)I got very itcht last night in bed having just laundered my sheets that very day. Is it detergent?
Try ALL. My sister had a similar problem and she switched to ALL and has had no problems since. I don't know who manufactures/distributes this detergent but you might like to try it. Good luck.I got very itcht last night in bed having just laundered my sheets that very day. Is it detergent?
There has been a out break of allergies from overseas companies.

Its the chemicals they use in the fabric I'm not sure what it is,if you saw a Allergist they could pin it down

The Ambulance people here all became allergic to their fluro jackets due to the same thing.

Australia
I was allergic to the fragrances in laundry detergents. They use many of the same fragrances, even though they may be different brands. I switched to a non-allergenic one and don't have itchiness anymore.
When you wash tour sheets with detergents make sure you hung them out side and let them to get a lot of air,I think by doing that they want make you itchy , and your itchiness feeling will go
yes it probably is the detergent.

that happens to me sometimes

it could be that when it was rinsed all of the detergent didn't come out
It sounds like it is the detergent you're using. If you've recently changed it, it may just be that you're sensitive to that brand. If your symptoms have crept up on you, but you've been using the same type of detergent for a while, you may be developing an allergy to it.

Also you mention that it may be the type of material. I suppose it's possible for one type of material to retain more of the detergent than others, depending on the density of the material and how the water soaks into the fabric in the washing process.

I don't really have any skin problems, or sensitivity, but when I use ';Bold'; (a brand found in the UK), I come up in hives. It's a brand renowned to cause problems though, becuase it contains harsher bleaches and chemicals than others - normally favoured by hotels to ensure their whites stay white!

If you have an allergy, try switching to non-biological detergents. That way you can still wash all of your sheets in the same product, without having to worry about separating them.

It's very possible (and probable) that it's the combination of detergent and cloth fiber. Many people have a sensitivity to the chemicals in detergent. That's why many clothes washers have a cycle with one rinse and one with two rinses. With those particular sheets always use the 2 rinses and if you already do rinse a 3rd time. Some detergents get into the fibers and are more difficult to rinse out than other fibers.I got very itcht last night in bed having just laundered my sheets that very day. Is it detergent?
Yup, it sounds like the detergent to me too. Try finding a hypo-allergenic detergent and use that.

Good luck!
I would suggest that you change the detergent you are using as you might be allergic to something in it. That would be the only explanation as detergents are supposed to clean away dirt, dust and other things like germs and bacteria that may have clung to your sheets during the period you were using them. There are so many brands of detergent (they are all detergents) but may have some ingredients that differ and the detergent you are using may include an ingredient to which you are allergic. It's not sanitary or healthy not to wash your sheets with detergent and just rinsing them so I suggest you change the brand of your detergent than not laundering your sheets.

The high thread count holds more residue. Instead of the detergent, could it be the fabric softener? I can understand why the clothes would not be affected. Clothes are designed to breathe is expell perspiration and to keep you cooler. You have no idea of the thread count of your clothes, so there's not correlation. I can't use some fabric softeners on on sheets. My wife likes the high thread count, but it retains too much detergent/ softener residue for me and I get a rash if I use one particular brand. Also--you don't have an animal in or one the bed do you? I caught the cat on the pillow yesterday and had to wash it. Any other possible source that's unique to the bed?I got very itcht last night in bed having just laundered my sheets that very day. Is it detergent?
You really already know it's the detergent. You could try running the sheets through a complete wash a second time without any detergent to completely rid them of any residue if you don't want to go out and buy new stuff. However, you also need to consider ';Bounce'; or ';Fleecy'; sheets, if you are putting them in the dryer. I'm surprised though that your clothes aren't bothering you as well.

I've had the same problem staying in some hotels when travelling.

\i got itchy till I had large red welts from failing to rinse properly (I liked the just laundered scent and did it intentionally) it was excruciating, that was from Daz, i still use daz but now I make sure i rinse properly.I got very itcht last night in bed having just laundered my sheets that very day. Is it detergent?
You could have a sensitivity to that particular brand of detergent. You might want to change detergents and see if that helps. Also, if you put one cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle, it will remove any soap build up from the sheets, and it also acts as a natural fabric softener (the vinegar smell will go away after you dry the sheets).
The tight weave is causing the problem. It is not rinsing well. Either use less detergent, wash a second cycle with NO detergent, or buy Ivory Snow to wash the sheets. Your clothes have a looser weave and the detergent can rinse out easier. Plus sheets often don't wash evenly if you machine is not large enough. They tend to ball up.
Washing sheets and pillowcases alone is what I do, use less detergent (cut it by half, so that they get washed and easily rinsed) and make your washer do an extra rinse cycle, adding fabric softner to the LAST rinse cycle so that you know they will smell good and be soft (white vinegar works well for this too and doesn't stink).

Often when I change detergents, (even if it's cos I don't have enough $ for regular at the moment), the clothes and smells and feel of them are different. Similar like to shampoos when you change to a different one how your hair feels..??

If you are not changing detergents, then maybe your body chemicals are changing and you need to think of changing detergents.

The weave in some fabrics holds more residue than others. If you are using a fabric softener stop. Run those sheets through the rinse cycle twice when you wash them. Switch to a detergent for sensative skin.I got very itcht last night in bed having just laundered my sheets that very day. Is it detergent?
Maybe your detergent has enzymes and your allergic to it..That happened to me before. You may want to change your detergent.
I had this and changed the detergent which solved the problem.

Poll: should a dog have a sheet or bed in a crate? yes or no and why?

Any dog needs to have something in the crate - not for comfort so much, but lying directly on the metal tray/floor is damaging to their elbows. Since a lot of dogs chew or play with beds, the best thing to use is an old blanket -- something you don't mind getting walked on and getting possibly chewed on and dog fur all over; and something that you can easily throw into the washing machine every couple of days. Poll: should a dog have a sheet or bed in a crate? yes or no and why?
I used old blankets until she was potty trained - simply because it's easier to wash old stuff OR pitch it when she had accidents. If you use one of those comfy expensive beds and the dog pees or poos on them... well, they're hard to clean off and may even get damaged in the laundry. I would also worry about some of the ones that have zippers or decor on them - pups love to chew!

Now that she's potty trained she has a comfy blanket and a cushy mat in her crate. She tends to play with the bigger beds so she doesn't have one at all.Poll: should a dog have a sheet or bed in a crate? yes or no and why?
yes, it helps cushion the plastic tray. Also if the crate is set somewhere where the flooring is cold this will help keep your dog warm. It also cushions the dog's joints. HOWEVER, if you have a St. Bernard or something large and hairy like that you might not need anything too cushiony. We use folded quilts for our boxer, rotties, our newfie has a sheet.
Yes, I would think a bed that fits in the crate nicely would work best, especially if this is where your dog sleeps at night. I think that it would be more comfortable for the dog than just lying in the bottom of a hard plastic crate.
Put the comfy warm bed inside the crate - the pet store sells ones sized exactly to the crate. I put an extra blankie in there too for my Boston Terrier to burrow under. She loves it!
It depends on the dog. I would give any of my older dogs blankets if they still used crates because they would not disturb them.

I would give my Great Pyrenees one if I didn't think she would chew it up.

I wouldn't ever give my shih tzu one because I think he'd pee on it.
this depends on the dog. if it is a chewer, then no. the dog may swallow something and the you are looking a possible serious problem. if the dog dose not chew on everything, then i do give them a bed.:)
If you can - I can't see why not...particularly if it's their ';bed'; for the night... my dogs chewed up their beds, pillows, towels, etc. even with a chew toy (and I tried an unbelievable number of toys)
If the dog is large or old then a bed is appropriate. Younger dogs and smaller breeds don't need the bedding so much.
Yes, you could buy beds at the pet store. Or you could try a big fluffy blanket. Be ready to refold it every day, though. Dogs love beds! Pillows too!
i always put a bed in for my dog just beacause she slept in there and when we werent home she was in her crate...it seemed more comfy than just a sheet....

Do most hostels offer beds with clean sheets, a pillow (with a clean pillowcase), and a clean blanket?

hostels in and around buenos aires, argentina specifically...Do most hostels offer beds with clean sheets, a pillow (with a clean pillowcase), and a clean blanket?
It's up to you. Generally Hostels are ok but if you want to spend 8/9US$ or less for a bed....maybe you'll risk a little bit. You can check Hostel, or Bed and Breakfast or Guesthouses. Enjoy Buenos AiresDo most hostels offer beds with clean sheets, a pillow (with a clean pillowcase), and a clean blanket?
Yes, there's a lot of competition between the hostels in Buenos Aires so most generally offer a very high level of service including clean sheets, blankets and pillowcases, big lockers along with free breakfast etc...

If you're looking for the ';party'; hostel I recommend the Milhouse, but be warned it's got a lot of cliquey poms and is next to a porno theatre which you can hear in some rooms.

My favourite is Portal del Sur...which is right down the street from Milhouse if you want to go party, but is far more laid back (http://www.portaldelsurba.com.ar/). Most of the rooms have air-con, there's a nice rooftop lounge and the staff even serve you breakfast in the centre room.
Well that depends on the ctegory of the hostel you are planning to go to, but I would recommend you either brind your own or buy here, just in case, also sheets are cheap and you get to take it with you as a souvenir of the trip.
I would advise you to get a hotel rather than a hostel.
yes, they will have clean sheets, pillow cases and blankets...

Deep pocket sheets are pretty readily available most places these days, because everyone seems to have a fat mattress with a memory foam topper or a feather bed or whatever.

You can also purchase sheet separates...the sheet you use underneath should be at least one bed size larger than the bed is...so get a King or a Calif King for a queen bed. Then hospital tuck it all the way around. If you tuck it right, it will not be a hassle.
Perhaps ask the folks at the mattress store ... I'd think if they sell them, they should certainly know where to get the proper fitting size needed to cover them... or at least I'd hope so LOL . If they aren't able to help you, here's a link that can....

Do franchise motel/hotel change bed sheet for each new guest?

Yes. Marriotts in particular have moved away from the standard, we'll call it floral sheik, bedspread and replaced it with a thicker blanket and duvet. This enables Marriotts to wash almost every part of the bed everytime.

Having worked in hotels for quite some time I have seen people bring their own sheets as well. As a precaution, if you do have allergies, I would recommend that you do this. That way you can be absolutely sure.Do franchise motel/hotel change bed sheet for each new guest?
Yes, but be aware they don't change the top cover, and rarely wash it. I always take it off before I use the bed.

What is the reason behind putting the top sheet reverse on the bed?

grandmother, mom, sister does itWhat is the reason behind putting the top sheet reverse on the bed?
so when you pull the sheets back ( to make the bed pretty) they show up the right way. I do it too..What is the reason behind putting the top sheet reverse on the bed?
if you have ';thick edged'; sheets, more than likely it's for comfort. Most flat sheets have a 2'; double layered edge with is generally the ';top'; of the sheet, and that goes to the head of the bed. If you don't want that 2'; band of thickness weather due to heat, or feel, that's called reverse sheeting where there is a ';standard hem'; at the neck and double hem at the foot of the bed. For people that ';long sheet';, reverse sheeting is not overly common, however it does present a more uniform appearance and is often used by inns attempting to acheive a low cost clean appearance.
Because when you fold the top sheet down, the design is showing instead of the underside of the sheet.

Why did Jesus wear bed-sheet on his last supper?

He liked the possibility of it blowing open and revealing his genitalia. He liked people to know he had genitalia, even though he never had occasion to use it.Why did Jesus wear bed-sheet on his last supper?
And you got the idea from what? A painting? Something that someone thought was representative of their view of Jesus? That's called artistic license and allows the artist a ';license'; to portray the subject in whatever manner they want.

    ';Art gets blamed on a lot of things that art did not do.';

The Bible is not overly descriptive of the clothing worn in New Testament times, so we must rely on historic documents, which suggest the type of clothing that could be best described as a cloak or robe.

Like a Scottish kilt, it can be fitted to the individual, or simply an extensive piece of fabric worn without any notion of style. Why did Jesus wear bed-sheet on his last supper?
    Jesus was a Muslim :)

What most people fail to realize is the names of most all religions are named after people. Christianity after Christ, Judaism after Judah, Buddism after Buddah, and so forth. Islam doesn't take its name from a person or place. That is one aspect of this religion that makes it universal. What religion did Adam, Abraham,Moses %26amp;Jesus follow? What God did they pray to? They were all muslim. They submitted the will of the One who created them. Islam means, peace and to submit the will of God.

They were not call bed sheets because back than they had no sheets, it was call a robe.
    He didn't.

    Sheets had not been invented at that time. He could not have worn ';a bed sheet.';
Because his Sean John suit was at the cleaners.
He was very drunk at the time. He had a bit to much wine in his blood.
    Bad taste!
It wasn't a bed sheet. That was the style back then. Are you serious? What kind of question is that?

Do you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in a bed sheet?

Not necessarily in that order, no. I prefer smoothies.

My dog keeps tearing up the bed sheets, he growls at me when i say ';no';?

Everytime at night i hear our 1 year old chihuahua tearing up the bedsheets while im asleep and i say no, he'd growl at me. he never growled at me until a month before when i went to go to sleep while he was on the bed, eating a treat thinking id take it. anyways, when he growled at me before when i told him no cuz he'd tear the sheets, i told him to go (to get off the bed) and he growled at me again. i was going to pick him up and put him in his dog room (we have an extra room for him) but he bit me! %26gt;.%26lt; he's usually so nice and i have no idea whats making him do this all of the sudden. my husbands mother said that the reason why he's growling is because when i take him away from our bed, it makes him think that we're abandoning him and he didnt like the thought of it? what should i do to stop him from growling at me or tearing up the sheets at night when we're asleep? its winter so i dont want our chihuahua to get cold cuz if he had his own sheet in his little bed, im afraid he'll tear that up tooMy dog keeps tearing up the bed sheets, he growls at me when i say ';no';?
It sounds like he's guarding his resources. First he guarded the treat he was eating, now he's guarding the sheets that he's claimed as his. It's a natural behavior that you can definitely work to improve. Here's a thorough, helpful explanation of resource guarding and some great tips about dealing with it:

    http://ahimsadogtraining.com/blog/resour…

    http://dogstardaily.com/training/guardin…

I don't think your mother-in-law is correct. She's humanizing your dog too much. The dog is not going through some complex through process about how you must not like him because you won't let him sleep on the bed or something, don't worry about that!

Do you have the heat on in your house? You should be able to keep it pretty comfy in your house. You could even have a radiator near his sleeping area to keep him warm, if he tends to get cold. If you use a plastic crate for him, he'd be well-insulated in there, too.

If he isn't crate-trained, I think it would be wise to introduce him to crates. Crating him at night would solve the problem of him wrecking your bedsheets at night. This should help you crate train him, if you don't know how:

    http://www.hsus.org/pets/pet_care/our_pe…

Then, when he's in the crate, he can chew on something appropriate (like a bone) and will not be able to get to your sheets while you sleep. As far as teaching him how to relax in the crate and chew on appropriate chew toys goes, these tips might help:

    http://dogstardaily.com/training/errorle…

EDIT: Yikes! Please get over Cesar Millan's methods. He makes some good points, but just as many bad ones. Remember the disclaimer at the beginning if the show: don't try this at home! Please read these pages about ';alphas'; and Millan:

    http://dogpublic.com/articles/article.as…

    http://www.drsophiayin.com/dominance.php

    http://www.urbandawgs.com/divided_profes…

When you grabbed him by the back of the neck, of course he growled, you threatened him and evidently had never taught him to happily accept such handling. I mean, dogs need to be specifically desensitized to rough handling:

    http://dogstardaily.com/training/handlin…

He probably gave up and stopped resisting because, well, he just gave up. It's called ';learned indifference.'; He finally accepts it and gives up. It's like numbness. He isn't submitting to your control and acknowledging you as alpha, he's giving up and accepting his fate. Shutting down.

You mustn't punish him for growling at you in this case for two reasons. The first reason is that when you punish a dog for growling, you run the risk of punishing the growl out of him. A growl is not aggression -- it is a warning. And when you punish him for warning you, you end up with a dog that bites without first growling. A dog who strikes without warning is the most dangerous. Secondly, the issue is that he does not trust you with his valued possession (the sheets, for instance). Every time you punish him, you reinforce his mistrust. You're basically proving his point. My dog keeps tearing up the bed sheets, he growls at me when i say ';no';?
the best thing to do i found out is to not let your dog get on the couch or get on the bed, this fixed the problem fast.

after a few days of doing that, i can get to my bed after my husband without my dog growling at me anymore =D or anywhere! ^^

Dont be afraid of it. its a little dog. push it a little or something thats what i do when my dog digs. i scold and then get it off balance so it stops digging
u need obedience training.. that will most likely solve your problem
Well, you have to realize, he is a Chihuahua.

And YOU are the boss. Your Chihuahua is NOT the boss of you. When he does these things, don't give him a bone, no, you show him who's boss and he gets to sleep in the other room till he realizes he can't chew your sheets and he CAN'T growl at you.

Be firm, ';NO!'; Pick him up regardless of his reactions, but him in the room, turn off the light and close the door.

The reasoning is not that he thinks your going to take his bone (maybe?) because I'm sure you he hasn't had a bone every time he has done this. If so, take the bone away.

The reason is probably that he is guarding one of you two. Either you or his other master. Chihuahuas are attached to normally one person, and that person only. He is trying to protect them, or he just doesn't like you two at the moment and is giving you attitude.

Regardless of the reasoning, you need to put a stop to his behavior. You are boss, and if he bites you then he gits a light pat on his behind, another bite, a firm no, and a ';BAD DOG!';.

Don't hit too much or yell too much.Chihuahuas have a tendency to be nervous dogs, don't overdue it and good luck.

p.s. another reason he acts like this is because he is a Chihuahua, to be honest they are just nasty, snotty, rude dogs.
This is dominant behavior. The dog needs to be corrected every time he shows aggression towards you or it will get worse. At 1 year old the dog should be on a leash when in the house so you can correct him instantly when you need to like when he chews stuff he's not supposed to or growls at you -hint hint-. Crating the dog when you're not awake and supervising him would be a big help. Sleeping with a 1 year old pup loose in the house is always going to end with your stuff chewed up.
    maybe your dog doesnt respond well to ';no';

instead try to encourage him to come to you by using positive praise, saying things like:

    - come here! (and if he turns to you get more enthusiastic), yes! now thats a good boy! (when he comes to you praise him even more) yes! what good boy! yes, you are a good boy! etc..

positive reassurance will make your dog feel good, more confident, rathe than scolding.

Maybe try removing the item he is chewing on, or keeping him out of that room.

I hope you take my advice and that it works!
This is actually a pretty easy, obvious one to answer. Your dog is the alpha, not you. Every time he growls, bites, jumps on the bed without being invited, etc., he is showing dominant behavior. This should be unacceptable. Most chihuahuas behave this way, because their owners don't treat them the same way they would treat a great dane... with control %26amp; without letting them get away with everything.

You need to watch some Cesar Milan. He explains this very well, and what to do about it. It has nothing to do with the dog feeling abandoned... he is simply being dominant because he can. You should be able to take anything away from him without him so much as looking at you sideways.

When the dog exhibits unwanted or dominant behavior, you need to make a noise the dog doesn't normally hear. They hear the word ';no'; all the time, even just during regular conversation. Try ';ah-ah!'; in a firm, low voice. Touch him on the neck %26amp; say it again if he doesn't listen. You want to snap him out of his mindset when firmly touching him on the neck. Also, take him off the bed when he behaves that way, and do NOT allow him on the bed unless he's invited.

You need to get a handle on this now before it gets worse, because I promise you, it will.
After the first growl incident your dog should have received a hard correction for the unacceptable behavior.

Then his privileges like access to the bed where you keep the bedsheets should have been restricted %26amp; put in a crate with bedding.

You should be able to take anything away from your dog without it attempting to bite.

The dog needs to be clearly taught what is acceptable behavior %26amp; have it embedded with consistent training %26amp; immediate firm corrections.

Your Chihuahua needs firm leadership %26amp; consistent obedience training. A dog with a pushy temperament needs an immediate firm collar correction for errant behavior, whereas a dog with a soft temperament may well respond to a firm no.

Implement NILF %26amp; train your dog to respect you as the person as the person who controls every aspect of his life. Good luck.

I found a locust in my bed under my sheets making loud noises, what does this mean???

Your husband, boyfriend, brother is playing tricks on you.I found a locust in my bed under my sheets making loud noises, what does this mean???
what do u want it 2 mean?....I found a locust in my bed under my sheets making loud noises, what does this mean???
That you need to put a screen in your window or keep the window closed.
    You need some Raid!
Sounds like a mating call to me - I'd be carefull - never can tell what a locust will do when the light are off and the sheets are pulled up. What did you say to him to turn him on? Well, stop it.

Stop making those funny sounds and he'll go away.

    hahahahahahahahah---or not.
That means a locust came in from outside and got on the bed is all.
    Haven't you seen ';The Exorcist';?
You have a locust in your bed. That's all.

    They are good luck though.
Someone left a window open DUH
    You don't have crabs!!!
you need to wash your sheets more frequently.
Nothing....There just was a locust in your bed.
It's telling you that the frogs are coming.
It means you have a bug problem!?!
means you need to close your door.
That he has no respect for you and he should keep the noise down. Shame on that Locust.
It means u need an exterminator, or a shoe, or a rolled up newspaper, or a container to catch it alive and then release it alive outside.

    Happy Sabbath.
It means, its going to rain
you need to wash your sheets!
    That's what locusts do silly.
It means that you need to shut your window so that bugs can't get in.
That you need to replace the screens in your house, because there are holes in them.
It means you need screens on your windows and doors.
    You may need to fumigate.
You do not need to associate every odd occurance with omens. That stuff is primitive and paganistic.
It means you must have a hole in your window screen.
It means you should close your window.
doesnt mean anything, they are good luck from what i hear so dont kill it because i also heard that is bad luck, just let it back out, and dont worry!

It happened to me when I was very young. I know a few grown men that have that problem. Most men grow out of that as they get older.

No, i mean if you think its right to do so, then do it! Don't let anyone stop you. I might do the same. It shows your affection for your deceased mother and your sorrow. I think it's perfectly fine, so if you want to continue sleeping on her sheets, then do it! It's totally your decision.Ladies I sleep in the bed my mother died in 15 years ago and haven't yet changed sheets. Am I too sentimental?
First off, I am sorry about your loss. And I think it might just be unhygenic for yourself not to wash them, but maybe you should. Just wash them, but use only those sheets don't replace them, just keep them clean. You're mother is still with you in many other ways, take care :)
SENTIMENTAL IS NOT THE WORD LOVE--------------- DISGUSTING IS THE WORD.
No, you are sick. You probably have bugs in your bed along with who knows what kind of germs festering in there. Sorry about your mothers passing, but get some new sheets. Its kind of disturbing

  • How high do you raise the sheet when making a bed?

My wife insists the sheet should be raised to the very top of the bed (mattress). I contend that the sheet should be raised about 1 foot lower, so as the top would rest over the top of your chest. Who's right? How high do you raise the sheet when making a bed?
When I make my bed, I take the sheet to the top then, fold it to where my chest will be. So, I would say you are right, why would you take it all the way up? Makes no sense to me. When you go to a hotel it is folded down as well. How high do you raise the sheet when making a bed?
i would think that a smart man would let his wife be right :-)

i personally do like a sheet to be raised higher as my shoulders get cold sometimes.
well when i make my bed i raise the sheet to the very top
I keep mine at the top as well. I like to cover my head at night. As a matter of fact I go a little higher than that and fold it over at the 4'; edge. I also redo any sheet work at hotels (what do they know how I like my bed made huh?)
when i make the bed i put it all the way to the headboard and then when i sleep i have enough room and blanket to keep me warm or kick it off a little

So i figured i got them at night, which i still think i did. so i washed my sheets and comforter, but last night i got another one, but on my other leg, and its like on my shin, and its HUGE, i havent scratched it, and its like a little bigger than a quarter. What should i do about a bug in my sheets?I got a bug bite in my bed, and i washed my sheets? and i got another bug bite?
    You know what they say;

Don't let the bed bugs bite.I got a bug bite in my bed, and i washed my sheets? and i got another bug bite?
They live elsewhere besides your sheets, they could be in your mattress, carpet, your closet or even behind your light switch panel. they come out to feed(bite you) and then retreat. you'll probably need to debug your whole room.
They may be in other places besides your sheets, I'd suggest using a spray on your room or calling a pest service.

How to remove ink stain on a bed sheet?

Use a cheap hairspray, like Aquanet, and paper towels. The hairspray dissolves the ink and the paper towels absorbs it. Spray a little hairspray on the stain and blot, don't rub, with a paper towel. Keep spraying and blotting until the stain is gone. If it's a large stain, start at the outside and work your way in. Wash the sheet, but line dry it, don't put it in the dryer until you know the stain is gone. This has always worked for me. Hope this helps. Good luck! How to remove ink stain on a bed sheet?
Spray hair spray on it let it dry than wash. should come all out if it didn`t dont dry spray more hair spray on it let it dry and wash.

';Short sheeting'; beds is a common prank played on people so they can't stretch their legs when they climb in to bed. The following is a brief explanation as to how that is done.

    Method 1:

Fold the hemmed end over itself and bring it up towards the head of the bed to the place where the top sheet normally is. Tuck the sides of the top sheet in. Put on blankets, bedspread or quilt.

    Method 2:

Leave bottom (fitted) sheet on bed. Place the unhemmed end of he top sheet over the fitted sheet leaving an extra two feet at the top. Bring hemmed end down towards the foot of the bed, then fold it over itself and bring it up to the place where it normally is. Tuck top sheet in at the top and sides of the bed. Is it safe to rest a laptop on a sheet covered bed or even a pillow?

Is it safe for the laptop in general, what might happen if you do this etc?Is it safe to rest a laptop on a sheet covered bed or even a pillow?
It's not recommended because you could potentially block the air vents but I do it all the time, just make sure the fan vents aren't blocked and the laptop isn't running too hot. There's plenty of programs you can get that track the temp of the laptop. Is it safe to rest a laptop on a sheet covered bed or even a pillow?
Technically no, because the heat generated from the fan can start a fire. However I'm a college student and I do I all the time, so as long as you are there and don't leave it on there when you are gone you should be ok. They do have these tray type things you can buy that are really cheap though.
apart from what other people said about it damaging the internal componets i found that it can be dangerous if you forget it and, well i dont know, you or someone elses jumps on ur bed and land on your laptop.
It's not recommended as the sheets/pillow will block the fans and vents and cause the laptop to overheat.
no. the laptop will get no airflow making it overheat.

How to make a toga out of a bed sheet??

The authentic toga of Rome, dating from about the seventh or sixth century B.C., was never a rectangle. Its original shape was that of a semi-circle, measuring between fifteen and eighteen feet long along its straight side, and from five to six feet wide at the middle.

The toga was draped on the body by placing one end at the left foot, with the straight edge taken over the left shoulder and arm, passed across the back, hung lloose under the right arm, across the chest, over the left shoulder and arm again, with the remaining end hanging down the back.

Having arranged the toga as described, it will be found that the straight edge under the right arm can be made, by turning it over, to form a second piece of curved drapery over the right upper leg. This is called the ';sinus';. Also, if the straight edge of the first portion that passes over the left shoulder is pulled out, and pouched over the top part which also crosses the left shoulder, the draped effect is obtained. This part, called the ';umbo';, was often used to envelop the right hand. The loose portion at the back of the right shoulder was often drawn up over the shoulder and attached to the belt at the waist, so as to form a sort of sleeve that could also be used as a hood of sorts during bad weather.

The toga was also generally worn over a square, sleeveless tunic called a colobium that fell to mid-thigh. In earlier years the toga had been worn by itself, but a small garment called a ';subligaculum'; was worn bound round the hips as a loincloth. It was superseded by the tunica, or colobium soon after Roman society was established on the Palantine Hill. How to make a toga out of a bed sheet??
oh man i have been in a toga twice , its easy , kig size sheet works best, cause you have more folding room.get your sheet and fold it in half, wrap it arround you once, and then again but halfway in the back bring it up to your shoulder and drape it pin it to the chest area, if you are a male wrap it once and then bring it over your sholder and pin it at the waste, go to a fabric store and by gold rope to go arround your waste , trust me it makes it look alot better than a plain sheetHow to make a toga out of a bed sheet??
A real ';toga'; cant be because the sheet is too wide and not long enough.

However, a reasonable proxy can be made with a sheet if you use clips/safety pins.

Put it behind you - put one end over each shoulder. Pull one end so that the left side is shorter than the right. Keep that end pulled down over the front (and to the side) of the body.

Take the other end and swing it over your shoulder. I usually pinned it in the area under the left armpit.

    Good luck

She is licking like that because it makes her feel relaxed. Its almost like meditating..She will most likely do the same thing to her new babies. She is also going to start scratching around.. Give her a few small size baby blankets in a whelping box....Put her into it a few times a day. Dont force her though to stay in it. She'll get the picture as time draws near..... How much are you selling your babies for?

How do u wash bedding(sheets, blankets, comforters)?

Large items such as comforters, mattress pads, and bedspreads can be toted to the Laundromat and washed in one of their biggest machines. You can put the sheets and pillow cases in with the load, and even the blanket if it's washable.

One bed's worth of everything should make up one big Laundromat load.

For woolen blankets, either have them dry cleaned, or wash them at home in cold water on the delicate cycle, and hang them on a clothes line on a cloudy day when there's a breeze and the humidity is fairly low. Better get that done before people start burning leaves in the fall. How do u wash bedding(sheets, blankets, comforters)?

I wash all items in my washer like I do with the rest of my laundry. I wash my sheets (one set) %26amp; pillow cases in one load. I wash the blanket alone, %26amp; same goes for my comforter. I use Woolite %26amp; cold water, on my blankets/comforters. It cleans them well, %26amp; doesn't fade them like laundry detergents can. I dry all my bedding in the dryer, on permanent press. How do you fold a toga with one(1) twin bed sheet? No sewing required please!?

Start by taking the fitted sheet and spreading it out lenght wise. Then take both hands and tuck them inside the corners of the fitted sheet, and fold one corner over the other. Do the same with the other end, then fold in half and tuck the two corners together and flatten.
If you are talking about a fitted sheet, there is no neat way to do it. Just halve it in each direction, and halve it again.
fold sheet in half, tuck corner inside each other.

fold in half again, tuck corners inside.

lay on bed, fold hanging sides over, usually abou 6-8 inches

sheet is now rectangular so fold in half and repeat until it is to the size you want.

    Now fold your top sheet until it is roughly 8';x16';

place bottom sheet and folded pillow cases on folded top sheet,

Litter box problems are very frustrating for all.....human and feline. Here's a link that you might find helpful:

Good Luck! What will take cat urine smell out of my bed and sheet?
There is a spray on the market but I can't remember what it's called off hand but you'll find it in any good pet shop- it is a deoderiser and it really does get rid of the smell- my kitten had been peeing on my new wool rug for a couple of days before I noticed and I thought I'd never get rid of the smell- tried vinegar- which works well in the litter tray but all that did was make it smell off pee and vinegar!

It's not cheap the stuff I then got but a few small squirts did the trick!
when you put the sheets in the wash, add a cup of vinegar. it will take the smell out.
    watch out this site http://www.pet-palace.co.cc/
To remove the smell of urine from just about anything, first clean it with some sort of soap or kitchen cleaner. Then clean it with lemon juice. If you don鈥檛 like the smell of lemon juice follow it up with a little bit of vanilla extract. One of the most effective formulas I鈥檝e found for removing ANY odor was from Popular Science Magazine. Mix 1 quart of Hydrogen Peroxide, with 1/4 cup of Baking Soda, and one tablespoon of liquid dishwashing soap. Saturate the affected area, rinse thoroughly with clean water, and the smell is gone. This is non-toxic and safe for your animals and children, and those with allergies. This is especially helpful for removing skunk odor from your outdoor animals. As always, test a small portion of fabric for color fastness, before treating a large area.

What Won鈥檛 Work鈥?There are many home remedies for treating pet stains and odors, and let me stress that most of them are not too bad as far as removing odors for humans鈥?noses. Vinegar, ammonia, baking soda, laundry detergents, lemon juice, fabric softeners, and commercial strength pet stain removers are all great for removing the odors that humans can smell. However; you will need more to remove the odor for your cat鈥檚 nose. An enzymatic cleaner is the best answer, but it is slow and may take more than one application. (Nature鈥檚 Miracle is one of them.) The Hydrogen Peroxide/Baking Soda combo is fast, but can alter the colors of some fabrics. In the end, you must decide which application is best for your situation.

Even if you clean a pet stain with soap and water certain micro-organisms remain behind and your pet can smell them. Enzymatic Cleaners are designed to completely eliminate the source of the odor by using enzymes to eat away the micro-organisms that cause the odor. The one drawback to these cleaners is that they are slow; it could take several weeks for them to completely eliminate an odor. Enzymantic Cleaners are available at most pet stores, organic/natural/health food stores, and even some hardware stores. You can also ask your vet for suppliers.

Here are a few suggestions to your litter box problems:

    - Provide a box for each cat

    - Change litter daily

    - Provide constant access to a box

    - Go back to previously used brand of litter and/or

    - Discontinue new disinfectant

    - Move box to where it was previously used

    - Eliminate new or frightening noise near litter box

    - Move food and water away from litter box

    - If cat is only going in one spot, put the litter box at the exact location and gradually move it back to where you want it at the rate of one foot per day

    - If there are several places, try putting dishes of cat food in those areas to discourage further elimination there

    - Experiment with different textures of litter (cats prefer sandy litter)

    - Use a covered litter box for cats that stand in box but eliminate outside of it

    - Keep in mind that some cats are rather picky, and prefer to have two separate boxes (one to pee in and one to poop in)

Problems arise when your cat doesn't like or develops an aversion to the litter box that you have provided. Let's be fair here. There is absolutely no reason to expect every cat to like the same material, or even for one cat to prefer the same material over an entire life span. First lesson learned: You did not train your cat to use a litter box. At best, you offered the cat something recognizable as litter material. If your cat is having litter box problems then you will need to figure out how to make the litter box appealing to the cat. Here are a few options:

    1) Pain or illness can cause a cat to stop using the litter box. Cats are very adept at hiding illness, so if your cat is having litter box problems then the first thing you need to do is take the cat to a vet for a medical exam.

    2) If you aren't scooping the waste out of the litter every day then you need to start and start now.

    3) Perfumes or other odors can drive your cat away from the litter box. Scented litters are unacceptable to many cats, and the leftover scent from a cleaning product could also be a problem. Get rid of the perfumes, and scrub those cleaners away before giving the box back to the cat. Remember that cats have an acute sense of smell.

    4) Your cat may feel vulnerable when in the litter box. Is it in a noisy location (such as next to the washing machine)? Is it secure from little marauders like dogs and children, or even other cats? If the box is not semi-private, move it to a better location.

    5) Remember those preferences that we talked about earlier. You may need to offer several different types of litter before finding the right one. Strange but true, some cats will not use the same box for urine and feces, in which case you'll have to provide two boxes. The type of box could also be a problem. If the box has a cover, try removing it.

    6) Anxiety can lead to litter box lapses. Did some event scare your cat? This could be anything from a new couch to a new cat or even a new person in the house. If you suspect anxiety, confine the cat to a safe and secure place (maybe a bed room) until the anxiety has passed. Cats seem to hang on to their emotions, so the anxiety could last much longer than the actual event. No need to rush, leave that safe haven available to the cat for as long as possible.

    7) If you have multiple cats, chances are you'll need multiple boxes, maybe even with different materials in them.

There is one more important distinction that you'll need to make. Is the cat refusing to use the litter box, or is the cat spraying? Spraying is a territorial behavior and has nothing to do with disliking the box. For more information on litter box problems or spraying, consult with a trained behaviorist.

    Correcting the Problem

The key to solving elimination problems is to make the litter box more attractive, and the area where the cat is soiling instead, unattractive. Sometimes, just cleaning the litter box more frequently or changing its location will correct the problem. Other times, you may need to experiment with different combinations of location and kitty litter to find a solution. You may even want to offer your cat the choice of several different boxes, each with different kinds of litter, to see which he or she prefers. At the same time, you must break the cat's habit of soiling in the new location. Be sure to clean the soiled area thoroughly with a pet odor remover to get rid of any urine scent -- or your cat may be attracted back to the same spot. It's important to keep the cat away from the area. Try covering the spot with carpet runner, prickly side up, or use a device that delivers a harmless static shock or that produces a loud noise when the cat comes near, to help redirect kitty to his litter box. Adding a room deodorizer with a scent the cat finds offensive - such as a strong citrus or floral - can also keep the cat away from the area.

    When to See the Vet

If your cat continues to eliminate outside of the litter box, a trip to the vet is in order to check for health problems. No behavior techniques will help a cat with a problem that requires the attention of a veterinarian.

Urinary tract infections are a common cause of litter box problems, which your pet's doctor can diagnose and treat. A urinalysis can also rule out diabetes. Other conditions that may affect elimination behavior include arthritis - which makes is painful to climb in and out of the box - and constipation.

My rabbit always chews up my bed sheets and scratches them and tries to push them off, why does he do this?

because when i first got him he always weed on the chair i put old bed sheets over the chair when he was sitting with me but now he just chews them to shreds and tries to push them off the chair, why does he do this? I'm hoping to get him neutered at the end of the year, will this stop him from being so destructive? My rabbit always chews up my bed sheets and scratches them and tries to push them off, why does he do this?
    Hi there

Male rabbits sometimes do this because they are trying to be in charge and the dominant person in the situation. Or it is sometimes because of the certain smells of an object.

Neutering may not help this problem, though still get him neutered because it prolongs their life expectancy and can stop them getting cancers/tumours down below! Also, it stops breeding.

I hope I helped :)My rabbit always chews up my bed sheets and scratches them and tries to push them off, why does he do this?
My granny does this too - wrestles with her sheets and pees all over the chair. We've put her in a hutch with some straw, some Hobnobs and a lot less toys. Sounds crazy but it seems to work! Take her away from her natural habitat and see what happens?
nope..neutering a rabbit will not stop the chewing...they chew because they have to keep their teeth shortened...so get him some chew things and keep him off the furniture.
he wants them off the chair so he can pee on it again its a territory thing
Gawd @ some of these answers!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a female spayed bunny and she always wrestles with the towel or blanket I have her on. She will push and look like she's fighting it, then fix it back to do it all over again. Rabbits like to dig. As far as peeing on the chair-a litter box does wonders. I hope if hes out-you have lots of straw-anything cloth is NOT good for him and honestly, he will live longer if you could keep him in all the time. Corn cob bedding/litter if you have a Walmart is best in a litter box. Put a little of his stuff in it-he will take right to using it. Get him some wood chew toys, rattle toys, cardboard tubes for chewing.
Its hard to say why he does this, rabbits have a natural want to dig so that could be what he is trying to do. If you want to try to train him not to you can use a spray bottle and when he is doing the habit you don't want give him a quick spray and say no. I'm not sure if neutering will help it might just because it will calm him down. Good luck with your bunny hope everything goes well!
It's because...he's a rabbit! Rabbits are simply weapons of mass destruction in cute furry form. They are natural incarnations of entropy.

It is your job to keep him in a safe environment and not have access to those things you want to remain in one piece. Is he properly litter box trained? If so, then I wouldn't worry about the peeing; have a litter box handy for his indoor adventures and just keep a spray bottle of white vinegar at hand for any possible accidents. If he isn't, then I highly recommend it. (If he's peeing to mark territory, then neutering will help alleviate that impulse).

Keep a box filled with newspapers or old phone books at hand as an outlet for him to unleash his furry vengeance.
He may have had a traumatic experience of bed sheets as a bunny.

I would let him recover in his own time, or else leave him wrapped in sheets to go cold turkey.
Perhaps its because hes not human and needs to be living outdoors as the Creator made him to be. Try changing the bed for a bed of grass and plants. Or you could try living in a field yourself to feel what he must be feeling. Poor thing.

Best of luck to you both.

How can I remove blood stains from a bed sheet?

    Dealing w/ typical girl problems

(every time of the monthHow can I remove blood stains from a bed sheet?
I heard that lemon juice, vinegar, and peroxide all work very good. How can I remove blood stains from a bed sheet?
If you catch the stain early enough, simple soap and water should remove it. If you let the stain set, then try Resolve Stain Remover or a really cheap shampoo that dries out your hair. (I don't know why, but that cheap shampoo stuff works.) Also, you can try applying detergent to the stain and let it sit in your sink or tub for a few hours. After that, just rinse and the stain should be gone. Letting a stain sit in a cleaning fluid is what works best. It takes patience, but almost always work.
Peroxide is good. Also, they sell a solution at Hanckock Fabrics, Michaels and Joanns that actually gets out blood, wine stains, and any other stains , I just can't think of the name of it. Resolve is also really good.
i read this somewhere and done it, it works like a charm:

get the stain wet with cold water, then rub with SALT! rub and add more salt as needed till it comes out! any kind of salt - i've used table salt and sea salt, both worked fine. then launder as usual!!!

    easy and safe!!
If it happens everytime, you must keep a calender so you know when to expect it. Or, just invest in some black or navy fitted/bottom sheets and mix the rest of the bedding with other colors to make it fancier.
rinse it with cold water before you wash it. if you use warm it will set the stain. cold water and a spot cleaner work great. But get it before you wash it or after you dry it it will never come out!
Hi, try washing the sheets in cold water. If you use warm water the blood will set in and become harder to get out. I heard putting baking soda in the laundry will help take the stain out.
always do it as soon as possible, make sure you use COLD water and soap, then throw it in the washing machine. always works for me.
Meat tenderizer, cold water, hydrogen peroxide. Any of them.
i heard that you could wash it with peroxide then wash it with regular washing powder

Can i use trash bags with bed sheets on top to keep plants from frost?

temps will get in the low 40's and 30's tonight......there is a frost advisory warning......never planted before and just planted my first garden today. just my luck....... just would like to know what i can use to keep my plants safe...... i just now put trash bags over them and have no idea if that is good, bad, or what. any advice ......thanks.

ok...now...next question is: can i leave the plastic that i put on - there? and then add a bedsheet on top? or will that be too much weight? not enough airflow? so confused here.....

any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks. Can i use trash bags with bed sheets on top to keep plants from frost?
plastic transfers the cold temperature TO the plants and does nothing to keep the frost AWAY, unless it's laid over a frame so that there's NO chance that it will touch a plant..... cloth and paper is what you use if you don't have a frame.....Can i use trash bags with bed sheets on top to keep plants from frost?
Tuck newspaper around the bottom of your plants stick some pole -type thingies in the ground and Yes! cover the poles with trash bags and bed sheets make sure the wind doesn't get at them This is what I have done for a quick remedy but later a frame with clear plastic you can roll back would do Hope they don't freeze

(drape the sheets down around the plants of course sorry)
uncover them in the morning before the sun gets on the covering material

what kinds of plants, some may be able to take the chill

always use fabric or paper products to cover plant materials, plastic sometimes freezes onto the plants.
you can use anything that will keep the frost off of your plants
Bed sheets, on plants, no plastic, unless you can keep it off the plant!

Are bed bug barriers / impregnated sheets useful when backpacking?

Are bed bug barriers useful when backpacking?

Going travelling to SE Asia and would like to know from experienced travellers if it is worth it to purchase a bed bug barrier / sheet impregnated with permethrin to protect against bed bug bites when sleeping in hostels?

Do they actually work? Thanks in advanceAre bed bug barriers / impregnated sheets useful when backpacking?
definately unless you want eating aliveAre bed bug barriers / impregnated sheets useful when backpacking?
Hi not sure if they work but go on www.thetravelforums.com to ask your question.

    Tina
I got bed bug bites at one place only when travelling in South East Asia. I never knew that such barriers existed. All the bites are are a few spots on the skin that don't really hurt and soon fade. The barriers seem to be cheap and don't take up a lot of space. To my mind space is a premium when travelling and if I were to visit SE Asia again I still wouldn't take one. Depends whether you mind being bitten (and you're very unlikely to avoid mosquito bites which are far more noticeable because they itch) or not.

  • What colour silk bed sheet to go with this room decor?

Oxblood leather sofa, cream flocked wallpaper, one red cranberry wall with slanted quote in cream, varnished dark wooden floorboards, heavy green curtains, sheepskin rug, leather chest on the floor, a chandelier and a vintage/scrubbed white wood bed and wardrobe. Do you like the idea of wallpapering the wardrobe with old tea stained music sheets? xWhat colour silk bed sheet to go with this room decor?
i think cream, something with a kind of gold shimmer even just a satin sheen would keep in with the theme you're going for, your room sounds beautiful by the way!love it! and yes love the wardrobe idea, very unusual. What colour silk bed sheet to go with this room decor?
I really liked the sound of your room until I came up to the heavy green curtains. I'm sorry, I just can't see it with the red and cream. I would suggest using a cream flocked silk bed sheet. It could be flocked with red ^-^

    That did make sense right?

Btw. I love the idea of the wardrobe. Very unique.
I love the wardrobe idea, very creative =)

I think the bedsheets should be cream with green accents (such as a green throw or a green bedskirt and cushions)
